Stéphane Neidhardt, the owner of this guitar shared the following story with us:
“I bought L5 serial number 95080 in 2012 and recently discovered an engraved name, hidden beneath an old paper tape on the inner side of the truss rod cover (the truss rod was reversed).
“Having cleaned it up, I was able to read the name ‘Bobby Sherwood ‘.
Research revealed that Bobby Sherwood a talented multi-instrumentalist and a great guitarist! I contacted his son Michael Sherwood – it turns out that Bobby had two sons, both of whom are professional musicians - who sent me this photo of his father playing a super 400 (you can see this picture here)

“You can hear Bobby Sherwood playing my guitar on this 1938 record with violinist Harry Bluestone, which is a tribute to Eddie Lang and Joe Venutti. Michael Sherwood told me that his father replaced Eddie Lang in Bing Crosby’s band!
